turnpike. the coach of the seton hill women's lacrosse team and the bus driver are dead. susan candiotti has more for you. >> reporter: two days after the crash, a mystery. with no other vehicle involved, why would a bus driver swerve off the pennsylvania turnpike with 22 college athletes and coaches aboard? a sunday night service remembering victims of saturday's bus crash that killed both the driver and women's lacrosse team head coach christi christina who was six months pregnant. >> horrible for her husband. it's pretty hard. >> reporter: seton hill's campus near pittsburgh is stunned. the other 21 people aboard the bus survived with injuries including 19 players and two coaches. investigators are examining the team's charter bus for any possible mechanical problems. an autopsy is scheduled today on the 61-year-old bus driver for any medical explanations. >> everyone is devastated by the losses and it seems like we're all just coming together as a school. >> reporter: authorities say there was a mix of snow and rain when the bus swerved off the pennsylvania turnpike, jumped a guard r
schools in this area are closed for the day. john? back to you. >> susan candiotti, hopefully we can put that ruler away soon. >>> let's go to parts of kentucky and tennessee where people there have been dealing with hail and very strong winds. a reporter sending us video from front porches and apartment windows. when can we get a break from this extreme weather? let's bring in jennifer delgado. doesn't look like spring. doesn't feel like spring. what's ahead? >> i know. everybody is complaining about it. they want to know when are we going to finally warm up? you saw the storms coming out of the midwest. the good news is we're not going to see any severe weather today. we're just talking all snow. still, a lot of snow to talk about in many areas covered from illinois all the way over towards pennsylvania. you can see down to kentucky as well as into tennessee. we're dealing with snow where susan was in dayton. still looking for snow coming your way. cincinnati, und nap li cincinnati, indianapolis, you'll get the backside of the snow. four to six in some parts. cleveland, the bulk of the
cities that are hosting march madness dams. dayton, ohio is one of them. susan candiotti is in dayton. people are going to get there despite this nasty weather? >> reporter: well, look at it now. the forecasters have said all along we're only expecting one to three inches -- until the overnight hours. so we've been getting flurries off and on. that's it. you can see right now these guys are getting ready for the onslaught of all the cars that are about to be let out of the university of dayton where the second of two games is winding up. but take a look around. we could still see grass here. just little patches of snow from those flurries earlier today. still all these people have to make their way home. either to indiana or to philadelphia. what do they think about that? listen. what do you think it is going to be like when you wake up in the morning? >> i'll be tired. it doesn't matter to me. i'm retired. i don't care. i don't have to go anywhere. >> i have to go to work. so it will be cold but i don't mind it. >> so again, fred, they are talking about anywhere from five to eight in
continuing to track eastward. we have this all covered for you. susan candiotti is in dayton, ohio. shannon travis is in potomac, maryland, and jennifer delgado is in the cnn weather center in atlanta. we're going to start with susan in ohio. good morning, susan. >> good morning, john. it hasn't let up yet here although it's a light snow but it really came down after the sun went down last night. that's a shout-out to the university of dayton. over my shoulder. as you can see some of the streets here are fairly clear. but others are far more treacherous as they're trying to get rid of this wet, slushy snow from a lot of areas and roads and highways in this dayton area. we are checking how much snow we've had here. now that's about four inches in the entire month of february, dayton only had four inches of snow. so, one snow fall took care of that for this month. it has been a crazy weather week friend the colorado rockies all the way to parts of florida. icy roads, slippery going near st. louis as a pickup truck slides down a street. just about everyone's tired of winter weather, in spring.
